My True Calling Is Discovered

After work this afternoon, I discovered my true calling. This revelation dawned on me while ordering a turkey sandwich at Subway. Frequently, I find myself in this establishment when my groceries are running low on the home front, this afternoon was no different.

Upon ordering my sub (turkey on monterey cheddar with extra cucumbers and pickles), and turning down the combo meal with drink and chips I produced the six dollars required for my exit from the establishment. The sub jockey behind the counter made the appropriate change and began to transfer the money to my hands. It was then that the moment struck. A dime dropped on the counter and began to roll to the edge to begin its descent to the dirty and unkempt floor.

Then, swifter than the human eye can follow, my right hand swept down quickly snatching the dime in the palm on my hand. If it had been quarter, no one would of given it a second thought. However, it was a dime that I found in the palm of my hands. As you can imagine, everyone in Subway froze in awe. The girl who had ordered before me, broke the moment of silence by whispering, "Wow, nice reflexes...that was an amazing catch."

It was then that it dawned on me, "My god, I am a ninja."

Not wanting to draw any attention to this strange new gift, I pretended nothing had happened. "Good night." I mumbled as a quickly busted out the door and hurried home. The four block walk back to my apartment felt like hours. I knew I had to hold back the urge to show the world a display of my dazzling new found skills until I was able to examine my ninja prowness in the private cover of my apartment. For now, I struggle to control this new found responsibility and try to find my new identity as I answer the question: Will I be an evil ninja or a good ninja?
