Elegy

In the end, it was the little people who carried his body from the field. Twelve, maybe more, hoisted the goliath's corpse up on their shoulders. With nary a sound and only the light of the moon to guide them, they marched with their vanquished prize. The little people carrying the big into the woods, never to be heard from again. It is said by some, that they built a funeral pyre of elderwood and oak.

After the long and ancient funerary rights of their people were complete, the dead being appeased, they fired the pyre. The corpse they say burned for seven days and seven nights and that the ashes were placed in the barrows of the forgotten kings. Others say that that great rock skinned giant didn't die that day and lives with the little people still.
