Our Spoiled and Uninspired Youth

Our culture blows. UConn wins the NCAA tournament and what happens? Drunk and belligerent college students over turn cars, start fires, and act like complete assholes and spoiled brats. Winning the NCAA tournament is the most exciting thing these kids have ever done in their life..wait a minute, scratch that...turning over a burning car and living vicariously through their student athletes is the most exciting thing these kids have ever done. Don't get me wrong, I am all for turning over cars and burning them, but in the proper context. Winning a basketball tournament is not that context.

I mean what lame assholes has our cultured produced? These are the finest we have to offer...the American Collegiate. The future of America. Your kids? (Hey I haven't procreated.) And maybe in some sick and twisted way, the starting of fires and destruction of private property is a harbinger of our country's decline. Things are going to hell already, so when kids like these gain control I am sure civil unrest and rioting will prevail in hopes that these lame assholes will be thrown out of their birth right and fortune as the professional class and leadership of our fine nation. America we rule! We're cool! Our basketball team kicks your nation's ass!

The University doesn't even know its own students. Can you help?

That's why some of us go to school in Canada.

I'm guessing this is one picture she won't be putting on the ol' mantle for her kids or grandkids to see. Which begs another frightening thought; the fact that this thing might actually breed some day.

I was there when this happened. The basketball game was just an excuse for angry young adults to act on our repressed rage against an unjust and seemingly arbitrary societal social structure. We always wanted to flip cars and burn shit, we just never had the chance, a fact proven by the joyous feeling most of us had participating in directly violating authority as they watched us destroy shit. We had a "free pass" and expectation to riot so we took the opportunity. Fuck you if you weren't there, I bet with some alcohol you would have gladly joined damn near everybody else in the rioting. It was exciting like nothing I have ever felt before and have only matched in sparse and fleeting moments ever since. If you were there and still find the destruction pointless, so is warfare, poverty, etc. I'll lament about UConn students ruining our culture when those larger systemic problems cease to exist.

UConn students are repressed with rage and are upset about an arbitrary (Your words not mine, societal structures are far from arbitrary. They are complex systems of control) societal structure that favors them? It is sad that this event is defined as a highlight in your life. To compare your action to warfare and poverty shows how out of touch you are concerning your priorities as a member of humanity. Life is pointless? Perhaps. But some choose to take action against warfare and poverty through good works while others choose to drink and destroy. You are proud to associate with the latter? You sir, are just as sorry as the rationale for your actions.
